Not a chance Lehner signs that cheap. He probably gets 7Mx5 on the open market.

The Wild accept but I'm not sure why Vegas would downgrade from Fleury to Stalock just to save 3M in cap space (Rask buried)

Robin Lehner and the Knights reached a handshake deal before the RTP. It’s rumored to be around 5x5.

I'll believe it when I see it. Same with Lundqvist retiring.

If he does go 5Mx5 that would be great news for the Canucks on a Markstrom extensions and the Leafs on an Andersen extension.

Agree with you on the Lundqvist retirement thing lol. I don’t think he’s gonna hang em up this summer. Next summer is a different story. As for Lehner, I think his contract will determine what everyone else gets paid. If Lehner gets 5.75, then Markstrom gets 5.5-5.75, then Holtby gets around that, then Khudobin gets like 4.5. It happens every year. Look at the Doughty deal, it set the market for EK65. Mix all of that in with the flat cap era and Covid, it’s going to be interesting to see how it all pans out.

I think Lehner gets 6.5x5 or 7Mx4. Markstrom should get about 1M less. Khudobin should get ~5M.

Holtby probably gets a 1 year prove yourself deal.

Yeah you are going to have to add a Sweetener for the Wild to take MAF. Rask is actually cheaper. Wild could get a serviceable goalie during UFA that will cost a lot less.

I don't think so. No one is adding a sweetener to take buyout candidate 14th forward Rask.

Multiple sources reported a possible agreement from before July for 5x5. Pagnotta is confident it's done. Lehner said nothing was finalized, which is true.

3m cap wasted on a player is better than 2-3m dead, unmovable cap from retention. They could also buy him out for less of a cap hit.

Rask has two years left. The Wild could very much hang on to him for two years. He is 75% cheaper than 35 year old goalie. MAF is a worst contract. How about Vegas just buyout MAF?

I wouldn’t even make the trade 1 for 1. The Wild can get a better and cheaper goalie during free agency.
