Minnesota says no because they can't take much cap back if they plan on signing Fiala and Kaprizov. Wild lose 10 mil to gain over 16 mil.

Not a chance that the Wild sign Kaprizov to that amount for that length of term. If Kaprizov wants 9 mil it gotta be for 6 or more years.

Yeah the Wild keep the shorter and less cap hit contract. No way we give up one of our top prospects for a boat anchor. Habs gotta live with that one.

Trading for a top 6 centre in the NHL
How do you threaten Suter into waiving his NMC? Do Guerin and Modano jump out of a van with a pillow case full of soap bars and take turns whacking him? "The beating will continue until you waive" They shouted.

I actually think Minnesota is one of the teams that TJ would waive for.
1) originally, he was going to go to Minnesota. He got injured though the year he was going to sign. When he went back to juniors he exploded and decided to sign with Tampa instead.
2) he is really good friends with Spurgeon. He was going to sign with Minnesota in point 1 because he wanted to play with him
3) he won the cup so I think he is willing to go to a team that is less of a contender right now.
However, saying all that I don’t want TJ.

Rossi doesnt make the team
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMs</b></div><div>I really don’t see Rossi making the team</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GMs</b></div><div>Because of the center depth and they don’t need to rush him
He’ll probably be better than some ( Bjugstad Sturm Rask ), but they will send him back in the OHL</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>wabit</b></div><div>I don't see it either. He had one good year in the OHL and that is nowhere near the same level as the NHL. MN doesn't need any wings, or that could be a possibility for Rossi. I don't see him being anywhere near NHL ready without the normal prospect tournament, training camps, etc. It's too big of a jump for almost everyone in a normal offseason, with the wierdness of this offseason I think it makes it even harder. Ideally he'd be in the AHL (the CHL has nothing else for him) to get his feet wet with pro hockey and playing grown men.
Bonino/JEE will be the top-6 centers. Bjugstad/MarJo the 3C. Rask the 4C until he gets enough games played to meet expansion draft eligibility. Then Strum takes over the 4C spot and Rask back the the pressbox.
I'm still hoping that an OS/trade for Cirelli happens. I don;t think it'll happen but none of the other center names floating around interest me. I'm also hoping for a bounce back/healthy season for Bjugstad (simply because we're stuck with him). If he can be the player he was in FLA he'd be a fine 3C, Then MN can just roll 3 x 2nd lines and a quality 4th line, they have the wings for it to happen, They won't win many style points, but will be in every game they play.</div></div>
You guys need to read more Wild sources like Russo. Everyone believes Rossi sits at about an 80% chance he makes the team. That’s the low end of it. At the very least he will get 9 games in the NHL before they decide to burn up his ELC.
If Rossi doesn’t make the team. He will be in Europe and not the OHL. He already in on a European team currently.

In a deer stand waiting for a monster to come by
This thread makes me wonder back to the time that Fenton almost traded Nino + Zucker for Dvorak + Domi. I don't hate this trade since I know a lot of people have been high on Dvorak. The truth is I know what we would be getting out of Stepan, but I don't know enough about Dvorak. His stats haven't been super impressive but there is always more to just a player's points. Can any one enlighten me on how he projects? Could he be a future top 6, mainly 2C in the future if Rossi reaches his projection as a 1C? Or is the verdict still out on him and people are just hoping that due to his age he will continue to improve?

One would hope, but our Beat writer has made it clear that Dumba hasn't been getting any impressive offers on the phoneline lately. Pretty much sounds like the Wild will hold on to him. Unless a team gets a bit desperate for a RHD.

unfortunately a team can't force making their players waive if they don't want to. When push comes to shove Tampa might have to lose trades badly just to make cap work.

If the Wild protect 8 skaters we would either lose Greenway or Jake to Seattle. No point even talking about this trade unless we can protect either of them.

I don’t like that Wheeler contract for Minnesota. I’d be willing to give you Parise and 2nd for Wheeler. I don’t expect you to accept it, but that just shows you my opinion of that contract.
