No, it really wouldn't. From a purely financial perspective, this is a disastrous trade for Calgary. Assuming Kerfoot and Bennett are rough equivalents, why would the Flames be willing to take on an additional million in contract for a milder version of Bennett? Not to mention almost double the dollars over and above Rittich for an older goalie with a year left who posted numbers that, although slightly better, simply don't make sense to trade for. That's why this trade will never happen and that's why the Flames would reject both players for Bennett outright.

talk all the trash you want Riddich will never be Andersen. Andersen as the 3rd most wins in the NHL since joining the Leafs in 2016-2017, and the Leafs defense is trash. One team in the west will get him and they will leave your trash team in the dust.

Yep. Why would you spend an extra $3.25 million for players that offer no significant upgrade? Not to mention having to throw in picks to complete the deal. Unless the GM is Chiarelli, I guess.

*EDIT - Apologies as well - I meant trading Bennett for Kerfoot and Andersen would be financial disaster and wasn't very clear about that. My main problem with the trade as proposed is that there is no advantage to be gained by the Flames in taking on the additional dollars and overpaying for the privilege of doing so.
