Phew, tough to swallow Dube in that trade and I think I would rather have Killorn than Johnson. I think Mange is going to be about a million higher than that, and Czarnik is not being re-signed. I'm liking the general direction of the roster, though I feel that Stammer is kind of made from glass.

Aw man! Why didn't Calgary think to get Murray for two 2nd rounders and sign him to a less expensive deal instead of the Andersen deal? :-/

I agree that they both do impress, though what price would you pay to acquire an elite player? Not only that but also a reliable top 4 D that is arguably on par with Sanheim? Also, it's one of the worst kept secrets that Philly would be able to retain Gaudreau after contract expiry. Hint: it isn't cheap...
That said, what would be your counter-proposal?

I agree, though there will still be a cost attached. How would you change it? A 2nd + B prospect? 2nd + a 3rd? Just a 2nd? I'm keeping in mind that these are not only quality players, they are also champs and know now, what it takes to win. 2 2nds may be what it takes to win a bidding war for these guys.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JRoss</b></div><div>Lol. For the record you have no clue. When you make a trade proposal you need to consider the other teams position.
1. We are rebuilding and will not win in the next year or two and have no reason to add Gaudreau when if we wanted him we could get him for free in two years.
2. Lucic has negative value. Not saying that his negative value and Gaudreau positive value cancel each other out. But it’s pretty close. Gaidreau will bring in a first and a top prospect. Lucic will cost you a first and a mid level prospect.
3. Our defense is terrible. We aren’t trading our best defenseman when we want picks or prospects because we are rebuilding.
4 the first rounder. “See #3”
Therefore I wouldn’t trade Severson and the first for Gaudreau. I wouldn’t even trade Severson or the first by themselves for Gaudreau. And Gaudreau is one of my favorite players.
Just sayin’...</div></div>
So much better! I really hate seeing XYZ declines without the rationale behind it. I love all of your points though I disagree with the perception of Lucic. I'm actually quite surprised by what he adds to the team on the defensive side and can't believe I can say that in all seriousness!
Jersey is going to make serious strides over the next couple of seasons so long as they draft well and with the emergence of young stars like Hischier and a high-level talent such as JG, it becomes easier to attract other talent. That said, while I'm not as intimately familiar with the Devils as someone in their fanbase, I do feel that there is the potential for this deal to happen and positively affect the Devils' fortunes.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Different_Perspective_85</b></div><div>Maybe I am missing the joke or the sarcasm but it looks like a significant upgrade in every way to me. I honestly have no idea how possible/realistic any of this team trades or signings are (despite all the smarmy condescension on here GM's in the league are unpredictable) , but I love it to be honest. I'm sure there will be a few truthers out there who will nitpick based upon ill informed opinion or just different values/priorities but objectively it sets them up for a much stronger future, far more balanced and consistent FWD group, the D not only is super solid, the G position is a bit above average which is all they'd need (more importantly, cost effective) plus it has a natural succession plan.</div></div>
I appreciate it, but after working on it and reviewing changes and the end result I honestly felt this wasn't an improved lineup.

Not sure that's correct. Alec Martinez - 2 2nds; Scandella a 2nd + 4th; DeMelo for a 3rd; Justin Braun for a 2nd + a 3rd. You could deffo get a top 2 d-man for 2 first rounders plus. Regardless - is that dollar amount close to what you figure TB signs him for? I know they don't need to trade Cernak (and probably shouldn't).

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hidalgo</b></div><div>I get wanting to hold onto Bennett, but that would be stupid to say no to Kerfoot+Andersen, lol.</div></div>
No, it really wouldn't. From a purely financial perspective, this is a disastrous trade for Calgary. Assuming Kerfoot and Bennett are rough equivalents, why would the Flames be willing to take on an additional million in contract for a milder version of Bennett? Not to mention almost double the dollars over and above Rittich for an older goalie with a year left who posted numbers that, although slightly better, simply don't make sense to trade for. That's why this trade will never happen and that's why the Flames would reject both players for Bennett outright.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>PleaseBanMeForMyOwnGood</b></div><div>Bennet had a hot steak in the playoffs he's not worth Andersen, who is a huge upgrade over Rittich. Kerfoot vs Bennet isn't that far off. No thanks.</div></div>
