"loses that trade heavily" is flat out wrong.
Konecny will likely never be as good as Gaudreau, he's an impressive younger player but the odds of him being a point per game player are slim. Gaudreau for Konecy and Frost is actually a fair suggestion, if not slightly in Philly's favor. As for Sanheim and Hanifin, Hanifin is younger and better than Sanheim! Yeah Sanheim makes less this year, but next year that probably balances out.
You should probably know something about the players being acquired before you **** on a suggestion where your team actually comes out on the better end of it.

Just a 2nd? I'm keeping in mind that these are not only quality players, they are also champs and know now, what it takes to win. 2 2nds may be what it takes to win a bidding war for these guys.</div></div>Very unlikely there will be a bidding war, Tampa has to move probably 3 of Killorn, Palat, Johnson and Gourde. They have just 5.3m to fill out there roster including re-signing Cirelli, Sergachev & Cernak.
I'd offer them a 6th

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ElPhantasmo</b></div><div>I agree that they both do impress, though what price would you pay to acquire an elite player? Not only that but also a reliable top 4 D that is arguably on par with Sanheim? Also, it's one of the worst kept secrets that Philly would be able to retain Gaudreau after contract expiry. Hint: it isn't cheap...
That said, what would be your counter-proposal?</div></div>
I just think they’re both so much younger 23 and 24 plus they lose frost who has real potential that they wouldn’t make this move at all if it involves all 3 of them. Not knocking your return (Johnny and Noah) but Philly got those guys for cheap and they’re young. Maybe they’d be interested in gaurdreau but not at the price of losing either of those guys. They’d do frost + 2020 1st + more assets for j hockey id think before they’d move both Travis’

Tampa is desperate to shed cap, why are we giving up 2x2nd for a guy they may have to give away?

You'd get one or the other hopefully plus a cap piece VanRiemsdyk or Voracek, definitely not both and if one of them are in there I find it hard to imagine a first coming back too.

Konecny isn't being traded and I highly doubt Farabee is but I guess I could see it happening I think Frost would be the most likely high end prospect to get moved not that I want to do that but with the depth a center that the org has it makes the most sense.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ElPhantasmo</b></div><div>Then Jersey, quite honestly, has no clue. Just sayin'...</div></div>
Lol. For the record you have no clue. When you make a trade proposal you need to consider the other teams position.
1. We are rebuilding and will not win in the next year or two and have no reason to add Gaudreau when if we wanted him we could get him for free in two years.
2. Lucic has negative value. Not saying that his negative value and Gaudreau positive value cancel each other out. But it’s pretty close. Gaidreau will bring in a first and a top prospect. Lucic will cost you a first and a mid level prospect.
3. Our defense is terrible. We aren’t trading our best defenseman when we want picks or prospects because we are rebuilding.
4 the first rounder. “See #3”
Therefore I wouldn’t trade Severson and the first for Gaudreau. I wouldn’t even trade Severson or the first by themselves for Gaudreau. And Gaudreau is one of my favorite players.
Just sayin’...

"Felt" is rarely a good measurement. This Team is easily +15-20 goals year over year, much better offensively & defensively (the only drawback is MAYBE the PP), it's younger, faster, bigger, tougher & and is much harder to match up against than the last iteration. To be clear; I don't see this as likely to transpire, and I am firmly in the Flames should be focusing on rebuilding instead of pretending they are close to something that they aren't. That said, if all of this were to be possible, I would be ecstatic and put some serious money on them being top 3/4 in the conference.

Maybe I am missing the joke or the sarcasm but it looks like a significant upgrade in every way to me. I honestly have no idea how possible/realistic any of this team trades or signings are (despite all the smarmy condescension on here GM's in the league are unpredictable) , but I love it to be honest. I'm sure there will be a few truthers out there who will nitpick based upon ill informed opinion or just different values/priorities but objectively it sets them up for a much stronger future, far more balanced and consistent FWD group, the D not only is super solid, the G position is a bit above average which is all they'd need (more importantly, cost effective) plus it has a natural succession plan.

I can't imagine they'd trade Point before Cirelli and I doubt Paquette will fetch anything much due to the circumstances.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DiehardRedWingsFan58</b></div><div>If Tampa trades Cirelli Julien BriseBois will want a similar C coming back not futures that might be 2-3 years away from making the team. If that's what it would take then fine. <div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sabrebluehs</b></div><div>Not too bad. Im not sure I want Reinhart for 6 years. I'd rather have Anderson at about 1.5-2.0 million cheaper.
Also rather than trading for Hjalmarsson, I would rather sign Borowiecki for a few years.</div></div>
Reinhart is a far better player than Anderson. Anderson has had 1 great year and a couple ok years and a wasted one this past year. Reinhart trends upward every year.
Hjalmarsson is a great defensive dman which is what I was going for. Borowiecki isn't a terrible alternative but he has no where near the same value defensively.

Maple Leafs 2020-2021
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ElPhantasmo</b></div><div>No, it really wouldn't. From a purely financial perspective, this is a disastrous trade for Calgary. Assuming Kerfoot and Bennett are rough equivalents, why would the Flames be willing to take on an additional million in contract for a milder version of Bennett? Not to mention almost double the dollars over and above Rittich for an older goalie with a year left who posted numbers that, although slightly better, simply don't make sense to trade for. That's why this trade will never happen and that's why the Flames would reject both players for Bennett outright.
I'm so glad you think so, now please help me convince TML fans to move along in proposing someone other than Bennett.</div></div>
If only I could. Many of my fellow leaf fans get fixated on certain ideas and won't ever drop them. Fans are like people, for the most part they are stupid.
