Tampa is desperate to shed cap, why are we giving up 2x2nd for a guy they may have to give away?

I agree, though there will still be a cost attached. How would you change it? A 2nd + B prospect? 2nd + a 3rd? Just a 2nd? I'm keeping in mind that these are not only quality players, they are also champs and know now, what it takes to win. 2 2nds may be what it takes to win a bidding war for these guys.

PHI loses that trade heavily. They decline. Botha Travis’ have a real impressive game so far and they likely only improve and then they lose frost as well

I agree that they both do impress, though what price would you pay to acquire an elite player? Not only that but also a reliable top 4 D that is arguably on par with Sanheim? Also, it's one of the worst kept secrets that Philly would be able to retain Gaudreau after contract expiry. Hint: it isn't cheap...

That said, what would be your counter-proposal?

I just think they’re both so much younger 23 and 24 plus they lose frost who has real potential that they wouldn’t make this move at all if it involves all 3 of them. Not knocking your return (Johnny and Noah) but Philly got those guys for cheap and they’re young. Maybe they’d be interested in gaurdreau but not at the price of losing either of those guys. They’d do frost + 2020 1st + more assets for j hockey id think before they’d move both Travis’

Very unlikely there will be a bidding war, Tampa has to move probably 3 of Killorn, Palat, Johnson and Gourde. They have just 5.3m to fill out there roster including re-signing Cirelli, Sergachev & Cernak.

I'd offer them a 6th

"loses that trade heavily" is flat out wrong.

Konecny will likely never be as good as Gaudreau, he's an impressive younger player but the odds of him being a point per game player are slim. Gaudreau for Konecy and Frost is actually a fair suggestion, if not slightly in Philly's favor. As for Sanheim and Hanifin, Hanifin is younger and better than Sanheim! Yeah Sanheim makes less this year, but next year that probably balances out.

You should probably know something about the players being acquired before you **** on a suggestion where your team actually comes out on the better end of it.

First of all Philly ain’t my team I’m just giving my perspective as Philly is already a team with cap troubles and acquiring gaudreau who’s up soon will cause trouble and both those guys plus frost bring in good value for their costs and losing them hurts the team overall. And gaurdreau is much older than Travis K who’s heavily underrated and I value more than JG at this point purely at being 5x5 and being 23

Ah, this makes sense, you're spouting off about 2 teams you have no clue about

Once again, don’t need to talk to someone who believes their right over everyone else. Discussion are better than 1 sided conversations as no one learns or gains from an ego. I gave my opinion and me and poster are not trashing the other and I’d welcome a conversation as opposed to an argument like you are

Cost certainty and age are the two biggest factors in this trade. I like Gaudreau as a player but no shot is konecny part of the return

I'm not right over everyone else, just right over you. I don't need to be full of myself to know that I have a better opinion on something when the other opinion is terrible.

Cost certainty and age are the only reasons why the Flames would remotely consider Konecny and Frost for Gaudreau. Without that, those two don't get Philly close to Gaudreau

If that's the case then the flyers wait 2 years when Johnny becomes a UFA and offer him something then. Frost, a first, another prospect and maybe someone like ghost would get a conversation started I'm sure. Konecny isn't being moved he's a part of the Flyers core and they're a team ready to contend you don't trade young top 6 roster payers who haven't even reached their full potential and already look pretty damn good.

Ghost ends the conversation. Let's be honest, he's just not very good and his contract is brutal.

Frankly, I don't think Philly is a good fit for a Gaudreau trade. Buffalo, New Jersey and even the Rangers make way more sense for the Flames as trade partners.

The views of Tampa having to give away players is laughable .. 1 of Johnson Killorn Palt or Gourde need to be traded .. then trade Mc Ilheny Colburn amd Paquette and play 5 Young syracuse guys who played some this year.. Volkov Verhegee Stephens Foote and Balle Bure .. and boom we good .. we do say goodbye to Shatty Maroon and Bogo .. will make any moves we need at TDL .. easy and slam dunk up winner again next year

Dudes had 2 knee surgeries this year alone one to fix the knee the other to clean out scar tissue. In the games he played in the bubble he looked dynamic again and in down years he's still good for 30-40 points. I genuinely want to see him succeed and think a change of scenery is all he needs to make his contract look like a steal. It's also not like he's getting paid a $6M sure its a risk but getting a first in this years draft a potential star in Frost, If ghost can find his game a 60 point dman, and probably another prospect. Money needs to go back in a Gaudreau trade and since it seems like the Flames want young pieces for him someone like Ratcliffe or Brink would probably also be cooming back in the trade.

I just don't have faith in Ghost rebounding. In addition, the Flames have no need for Ghost, there is nowhere for him to play. They have Giordano and Hanifin in the top 4 already, then they have Valimaki knocking on the door, Mackey is very highly thought of and then they still have Kylington. Liek I said, Philly and the Flames aren't the greatest of trade partners for Gaudreau. Honestly, I think Gaudreau ends up staying in Calgary and signing an extension in the next off-season.

Yet another person argues my points for me; clearly just isn’t me who holds an opinion and then you back down and say JG doesn’t fit anyways. They opposed to yours yet you don’t try and trash them lol👍👍😂 yup you’re so right bro the trade doesn’t work thanks for agreeing with me in the end

Yeah when a person is biased towards just 1 of the teams, they are always going to reject everything but a lopsided deal. Have you never seen one of these before?
