Fiala Trade More
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Nightowl26</b></div><div>First - I'm not trading 13th pick and Wally for Fiala, then have to give him a huge contract. He will get more than 7M easliy.
Second - I know Philly fans say "No" but to me this is interesting to be honest for both. Flyers are reubilding, Beau is only 24 a top 6 winger, Holmstrom is another young winger who had a good year in Bridgeport and it knocking on the NHL roster for the Isles either this year or next. Bailey to me is an easy flip for a pick or someone younger at the deadline. If Trotz becomes Phily's coach I can definitely see this as a possibility.</div></div>
I just don't see Philly retaining any salary on a trade like this. Also doubt they want to move him in division

Flyers 2022-23 Offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>caseytalksflyers</b></div><div>We are not in a postion to be agressive this offseason and signing Forsberg does not make sense to me. We need to rebuild and trade players for picks and prospects (like you did with konecny) not sign a player that is in their prime to a 6 x 9 million contract. Plus there has been reports that have come out that Giroux will most likely not return in the offseason especially on that cheap of a contract.</div></div>
As much as I agree a legit rebuild is probably what needs to happen management already said they're not rebuilding

is braun any good
He's been asked to do much more than expected in Philly and was solid in his role. When he was resigned people assumed that they would have him play on the bottom pair but with the injury to Ellis he has been asked to play top pair minutes again. Assuming that he'll be on the third pair I think it's a great depth pick up especially at the cost of a 3rd

Nick Foligno got a first and a fourth last year if the only difference between him and G is moving up a mid round pick theres something very off about the market

With Friedman saying he believes Hertl isn't available Giroux is the best available rental forward. He can play both wing and center, can play both PK and PP and is top 5 in faceoffs and salary is being retained. He's worth more than a first and third

The only way I saw JVR being moved is if Allison step up big time and they felt like he needed to be in the top 6 or just get more ice time in general but with his apparent injury I agree I don't see them moving him during the season

Why did you sign Yandle and Jones
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>mauston_atthews</b></div><div>You can’t scratch yandle, he has an iron man streak, it would be a really non classy move to sit him. They shouldn’t have signed him, get some other depth defenceman who you can sit and is actually decent in their own end. You have to sit Braun now if you wanna play York, and he is pretty solid. Him and York would be a great pair as York would learn from him.
I’ve cheered for Jones to bounce back every year and he just hasn’t. I don’t think it’s there anymore. Maybe in a hopefully winning environment and the goalie coach it can get better, but it’s a tough bet.</div></div>
If Yandle is the worst dman on the team he's going to be the one to sit I think he realized that it's possible the streak might end when signing else where. I don't expect him to sit at the beginning of the season I think Yandle is in the game one line up but he was a depth signing and again its insurance if York isn't ready you can't play Morin every night it wouldn't work. As for Jones I personally think it was a bad signing but think the reasons I said previously are why they brought him in. I would have preferred Reimer or Halak but I guess they got what they could

Why did you sign Yandle and Jones
Yandle is York insurance. If York comes into camp and looks ready to play Yandle is only making 20k more than so if Yandle sits it's not a big deal. As for Jones I have a feeling that they were looking at Holtby because he has a relationship with Hart but he told them he wanted to stay out west and so by the time they actually went to sign a goalie Jones was one of the few left. Jones also has a relationship with the goalie coach Kim Dillabaugh from his time in LA where jones was arguably at his best

Unless Couturier makes it clear he won't resign in philly there's no chance he's being moved and he'd arguably be the best center on the team if you acquired him so it would cost a lot

If you think he's getting less than minimum $4.25M you're going to be very disappointed. Although you might not want to believe it Sanheim is a good defender he had a bad season last year but he's a good puck mover who has good game sense but not physical at all. I'd rather have a good puck mover who knows where to be than a liability who can throw their weight around

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ALitteral</b></div><div>I would have preferred raanta or holtby for the same amount we are paying Jones. Riemer is a fine option. Pretty much anyone who hasn't been objectively terrible at his job for three straight seasons.
Our G coach was with Jones in LA, so the thought process must be that there's something there worth fixing. This move puts all of the pressure on Hart</div></div>
I would have been happy with Raanta but I think he signed for two years so I understand why with all the money going to be spent between G, Coots, and Farabee next season not wanting to commit beyond this season. Holtby only scares me because he was the second worst goalie in the league behind only Hart. Coming into a season with last years two worst goalies just isn't ideal

after Yandle
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Ragsandbluesfan</b></div><div>After seeing Sanheim Myers last season how can you run Sanheim Risto?</div></div>
Myers and Risto are similar players I give you that there one biggest difference is that Risto has the strength to be physical along to boards with players that Myers lacked. If the pair doesn't work then I'm sure there will be a switch I also think that keeping Sanheim-Risto with Couturier as their C will give them the support from up front to take the pressure off them a bit. Not that I'm entirely confident in the acquisition of Risto having him not play as a top pair dman may give him a slightly better chance at having better numbers
