I am an Oilers fan but I cannot see any scenario in which the Canes trade Pesce to the Oilers. Oilers can only offer a worse RHD in Ceci or picks and prospects that don't help the Canes become better now. If the Canes trade Pesce it is because he decided and made it clear to mgmt that he doesn't want to re-sign. In that case I'd still prefer keeping one of the best Ds at this price as long as I can and try to win the cup with him this season. If they are dropping out of the race they can still sell Pesce at the deadline and collect picks, prospects and maybe even a RHD that can replace Pesce next season. At least that is what I'd do.
