Minny says no.

you're actually dumping on their cap, and they have some pieces to re-sign.

The Dumba and Greenway for Nylander trade that is being shopped here a lot might work and benefit both teams.

The Wild actually have tons of Cap Space, with very few players to sign (and those needing signed not projected to take up much cap space).
They take advantage of that space here to significantly upgrade in G and upgrade C depth (their two biggest weaknesses), and get a 1st rd pick, while shipping out a Dman they need to trade within a year or lose for nothing to Seattle.

I wouldn’t give up Nylander for Dumba. Nylander should only be moved for a complete defenseman. Dumba is too one dimensional imo

They have $12M, and after your trade, they have $10M to sign Greenway (2.0-2.5M), Kunin (3.0-3.5), Sturm (1.0-1.5), Soucy (1.25-1.75), and if returning Koivu, and Galchenyuk

They do need to ship Dumba, I agree, but they can get more than these spare parts offered, this offer is a better goalie on a 1 year contract, a 3rd line center, and a 4th liner and a 1st pick, which likely is late first round with the addition of all these pieces.

If you take Dubnyk with no retention, then, maybe this gets closer.

I wouldn't do it either, but the consensus in here seems to be those trades benefit both teams... so, I'll accept the consensus.

but this is just cap dumping junk.

It's already been reported that Guerin isn't bringing Koivu or Galchenyuk back.

K, so even on the low end they have another 7-8M for the guys above, and still don't have a 1C and barely a 2C if you consider EE a 2C.

Toronto wins this trade, Minny loses it, no matter how you look at it.
