Oh cmon lol - maybe retain 1 mill of boychuks salary.

I doubt that’s the price to move boychuk but if it is well keep him and bury him in the AHL

lol yeah, realistically it should be Wilde+1st but I do like Wilde as well. Makes us deep as all hell up the right (Thomson, JBD, Brannstrom, Zub, Wilde) which is a good position of strength to have

Marleau had 1 year of 6.25mil cap, 1.25mil salary
Boychuck has 2 years of 6mil cap, 1.25mil salary per, plus a 2.75mil bonus next summer

Makes sense that he would cost double what Marleau cost to dump, especially considering the flat cap and the Isles having 3 RFAs (we could always just offer sheet Toews while someone else offer sheets Barzal) and several bad contracts, at least a couple of which they must offload to keep their actual good players

They can trade two of Leddy/bailey/cizikas

They can use bellows and lower picks to dump players that make less such as komarov/hickey.

Also who’s we? The sens? Lol

Yeah, but that's multiple moves, and you'd have limited time to make those two or three deals. I think if offer sheets are ever going to come back, this is the summer. Plenty of decent RFAs, lots of teams in cap hell, and Bergevin already broke the ice last summer. I think the Sens make a play for a young, decent roster player, and LD would be a good position to add at for us. Dunno if it happens but we can totally afford to give up a 2nd next year to offer sheet Toews.

They only have to move 1 cap dump (1 of hickey/komarov) , trade Leddy, and buyout clutterbuck

If they wanted to move cizikas, half the league would be interested

Disagree on offersheets - dunn, deangelo , and sergachev would most likely be ahead of toews (players like him never get OS) .

The only OS threat for barzal is MTL and they are just wasting cap space by paying 4.4 mill to a backup goaltender and 3.5 mill for a below replacement level D
