Trades
1.
PIT
  1. Larsson, Adam
  2. Marody, Cooper
Additional Details:
Edmonton has been linked to Murray numerous times. Koskinen salary is one blocker. Pittsburgh would probably prefer Ethan Bear, but taking Larsson gives Edmonton more cap relief and the ability to keep both Murray and Koskinen. If they can move Koskinen in a separate deal...even better for Edmonton.
EDM
  1. Murray, Matt [RFA Rights]
2.
PIT
  1. Nichushkin, Valeri [RFA Rights]
  2. 2021 3rd round pick (COL)
COL
  1. Hörnqvist, Patric
Additional Details:
Pittsburgh needs cap space. Colorado has a fair amount. Hornqvist's style would mesh well back in the West, and give the team a veteran forward to go with a younger group. Penguins get back some size in Nichushkin and a 2021 pick.
3.
PIT
  1. 2020 6th round pick (STL)
OTT
  1. Drozg, Jan
  2. Johnson, Jack
  3. 2021 7th round pick (ANA)
Additional Details:
Penguins need to continue moving out salary. Ottawa is 20M under the cap FLOOR and only 4 signed defenseman. Johnson can take Hainsey's veteran D spot. Penguins send Johnson, a 7th, and a prospect to get a 6th in return.

Avs decline, they have 0 interest in an aging player with a contract that is too long throughout his decline years
Hörnqvist would not be a fit in Colorado either.

too much term left on a contract at his age for a guy who will be 34 next season. plus with a M-NTC, having a contract wtih any sort of trade protection is a risk avs can avoid with him.

I’d pass on that oilers trade. In my opinion Murray is a bit of a long shot to actually take over the starters role. Think people seem to forget kosk was actually pretty darn solid all year. I’d rather just sign a cheap back up lots available and not tamper with defensive depth. Another issue I question people don’t consider enough when moving larsson is that leaves the right side with Bear only entering second season after being a huge surprise this year. Benning who is a fantastic 3rd pairing d but it’s debatable if can play top four full time. Bouch has no nhl experience. Moving larsson will require replacing which is much easier said than done.

Avs are both not trading Val and wouldn't have any interest in Hornqvist no matter how much Pit fans would like to pretend they would. So that trade is a failure is all aspects

It will also cost a lot more to get a team to take on JMFJ
