Ceci isn’t a cap dump lol while he is there for cap purposes he fills the gap on the right side for the canes after the trade. However, pesce would cost more

Lol a couple bad contracts and no first and a couple 3 and 4 picks and everyone forgets all the good contracts, Nuge, Hyman, Kane and skinner, all steals, the Ekholm, Kostin great trades. Kulak is paid for then dis ride what he brings to the team. I think he’s doing a fine job.

That’s like saying Crosby has more value than Bedard, because nothing else matters, whereas Bedard is obviously more valuable, since Crosby is at the tail end of his career, whereas Bedard is just starting his and will be great ‘& valuable for years to come</div></div>
I was specifically relating to these two players not an absurd completely unrelated example you tried to make. I’m not even going to explain to you how unrealistic and ridiculous that rebuttal was. Either way, Ruzika does not provide the same level of talent Duclair currently does. And there are more teams willing to pay more for what Duclair has to offer right now then what Ruzika might have to offer IF he develops into the NHL player you suggest he will become.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>KingofRnR</b></div><div>Duclair is the Better Player, but he’s also a Pending Free Agent, whereas Ruzicka’s Younger and an RFA, so his value should be considered higher
Put Ruzicka in the same situations/opportunities as Duclair gets and he’ll put up decent numbers and eclipse him within a season or two
Duclair definitely has more experience, emotion and energy, but he also has an injury history and will be 28 soon, so doesn’t have near the amount of peak years ahead of him that Ruzicka does</div></div>
Their contracts don’t change their value. At the trade deadline duclair will get more than Ruzika at any time of the year. Ruzika hasn’t proven he can produce at Duclairs level. I’m not saying it will never happen I’m just saying currently, no, Duclair has more value.

Massive over pay for Duclair and massive underpay for Dube & Ruzicka
Dube has more value than Duclair and Ruzicka’s value is likely = Duclair who’s a Pending Free Agent likely due $4-5mil/yr+ on his next contract depending on how well he plays this season
They are more valuable than Dvorak. IOW:
Dube = 1st Round Pick
Ruzicka = Duclair = 2nd round Pick
Dvorak = 3rd Round Pick + Sweetener, maybe?</div></div>
Duclair > Ruzicka

If Matthews tells Management he has no interest re-signing LA Side
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>SupremeBone</b></div><div>Gonna have to disagree. The point is that the Oilers literally can't afford to incur further cap costs as they already likely have to move on from two of Yamo, Foegele, Ceci, and Kulak. Adding Arvidsson would mean worsening the cap crunch and having to get rid of three of those players. For a guy that's likely only a bit of a step up at a position they shouldn't really be focused on upgrading (plenty of W prospects on the way up), that's not even remotely worth it.
As for Turcotte, nothing about his numbers suggest he's a 'top prospect' anymore given they've been largely stagnant for 3 years in the AHL.</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD282</b></div><div>Wait - Turcotte is a "very good prospect"? Is this 2019?
A 1st for an Arvidsson rental is pretty steep, especially considering Edmonton would have to move out significant players to accommodate. IF they trade Yamamoto this summer it would be strictly to clear cap to sign Bouchard - no way can they replace Yamamoto with a more expensive player. If LA was to retain 50% on Arvidsson there's a conversation to be had, but surely LA could do better elsewhere.</div></div>
I disagree, Turcotte is only 22 and hasn’t been given much of an opportunity in the NHL yet to say otherwise.
Arvidsson is a considerable upgrade on Yamo for only 1.125 mil more. I understand the cap crunch is an issue but not Holland has done more with less. If this deal is offered Holland takes it without hesitation and does what he has to do to make it work. EDM makes out like bandits here.

This is great trade for EDM. There’s a good chance Yamo gets traded this offseason and Arvidsson would be a considerable top 6 upgrade at around the same cap hit. Oilers also land a very good prospect. There’s no way LA does this.

Also the Eric Cole and David legwand trades were pretty horrible at the time and even worse down the road! Both did little to help and we gave up two good prospects who have been middle 6 players since the trades. Also a pick that turned into roope hintz.</div></div>
In hindsight yea, when you trade a pick you have no idea who the team is going to pick. Although, he did trade away the pick that he knew was going to be used on Jesper wallsdeht( it sure the spelling) so he could draft Xavier Borgoult, Jesper was and presuming still is considered a generational goalie talent

Definitely not a Holland type of trade. Green, Kulikov, Kulak were rentals, Kulak resigned on a good deal. Keith had 2 years and although Ekholm has term chariot is nowhere near Ekholm. Chariot doesn’t fit a single one of those trades especially when considering his cap hit and term. No comparables. Chariot will cost DET a 3rd to move, if not more lol

Realistically he would be playing above Bunting so he probably would get top 6 minutes playing with Mathew’s, Marner, etc..

Offseason Oil Change
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HockeyIsMyPassion61</b></div><div>Blues aren't retaining on Parayko, And that's a pretty pathetic offer for a top pairing RD.</div></div>
He’s undoubtedly a good top 4 Dman but he’s not a top pair guy. On the oilers yea but statistically over all no chance. 2 years ago his WAR was 50% while playing 2nd pair minutes. He’s currently on pace for his 2nd worse season. He’s never broken 35 points. He’s good at hitting and blocking shots but top but barely top 50 and 30 for defenders in either category. Now with lingering back issues as a concern I feel as though the trade proposal above is probably an overpay.
