Flames decline. You’re like, at least Sandin short on the Florida trade, probably more

Honestly he wasn’t even a top 20 goalie for me this year. I would rather resign Talbot (for cheaper as well) than trade for Andersen. And we’re not trading Bennett for a goalie either way

i really disagree, freddy has faced the most shots from the inter slot and has one of the highest save percentages the past 2 years from that area. he plays in front of piss poor defence. put him on a team like st louis and hes easily posts a .920-.925

also , i dont think playoff performance bumps a players value like flames fans seem to think with bennett. Hes non existent in the reg season, which effects his value alot in my opinion

Is Calgary St. Louis? Last time I checked they have 5 UFA defense this year and you want them to trade their best playoff performer (2 years in a row) for a rental goalie. Not happening

is that what i said? i dont think so. playoff performance doesnt double players value. the guy had 12 points in the reg season. i could only imagine the perception of bennett in toronto if he put up 12 points and performed in the playoffs but leafs fans expected a kings ransom for him.

mid/late 1st. Wouldn't trade him for any value less and have zero issue keeping him

Well you added a 3rd for 1 thing, there is a flooded goalie market as well. Calgary is simply not interested in doing that trade. We have zero reason to trade someone who was given the center role for the first time in 4 years and played some of his best hockey ever while there

noooo a 3rd round pick, what a deal breaker. andersen is one of the best goalies in the world and that would be realized outside of any other market besides toronto lmfao

He played in front of a bad defence for part of the season. Under Keefe they were much improved. Also this team has no futures, their depth is gone and what happens if Gieorgiev continues to be an above 3.00 GAA goalie? This is all short sighted and all together poor. Who fills in on defence if Muzzin or Rielly get hurt? Marincin and some Marlie? Poor decisions, I am happy that so far Shanahan and Dubas have been able to tune out nonsense from the fans and media. If we had ownership that bent to the will of fans, we'd never get anywhere.

You are probably right, however, you are also wrong in thinking Andersen is not valuable. We are in unprecedented economic troubles, it'll be close to a full year without fans maybe longer if the season goes a head in winter. That lost revenue is gutting many teams and Andersen makes 1 million. Frankly there isn't a goalie in the world that is half as good as Andersen available for 1 million dollars. For a pile of teams that means a lot. Calgary laid off all their support staff due to the pandemic because they can't afford them. It never fails to amaze me watching 95% of the know it all fans on this site ignore that 100% of the time. Who has money to spend on high priced FA's?

I never said he wasnt valuable at all. Everyone laid off all their support staff at the start of the pandemic so thats not really a good argument. Calgary's owners are quite rich people and have not mentioned anything about setting an internal cap. Im fully aware of Andersen being paid 1M (only reminded by leafs fans 3 times a day), but that list of teams that might overpay to save a couple million probably doesnt include Calgary. I doubt any Canadian hockey market will be setting an internal cap besides Ottawa.
