I like that people are finally adding Mathias Bromé and not adding someone like galchenyuck. But Beet should be making atleast a mill less than Mantha, also those trades..... big nopes for all. Atrocious contract to Krug.

Pass on Krug and why trade Gator as a cap dump and not use the cap? Brome isn’t a top 6 NHL player currently and would be lucky to crack the roster.

I mean Brome has the potential, and could very well crack the roster. I don’t think Detroit would pass on Krug, and Krug coming home. So this isn’t the first time such has happened.

People here tend to overvalue Bertuzzi for some reason, so I better do a reasonable contract for a lesser amount of time, so he has more of a chance to prove himself. The Anaheim trade works out, as both teams get their needs. Getting a big D-man in Jamie Drysdale for Anaheim, and Marco Rossi, who has been linked to the Red Wings in the past or even Cole Perfetti, would fit the bill.

Brome has potential but I just don’t see the skill there to be a top 6 guy, let alone penciling him above Fabbri. I see him a 2 way bottom six guy and have yet to find a scouting report labeling him as top 6. I’d also like to see him play on NA ice which may be problematic next year.

Krug just seems like the FA where he’s going to get overpaid and doesn’t play a complete game. He’s amazing offensively but the defense is lackluster. We heard this last year with Trouba and then people talked about Petry next year. Pretty soon we will see Werenski/Hellebuyck/Connor/etc. posts. We aren’t going to be an attractive destination until we build a core and start winning.

Bert will probably come in around 5M on a 5-6 year deal not on a deal that walks him directly to UFA.

I’m not worried too much about the lines. I’ll leave that to the coaches. Also Bertuzzi just doesn’t convince me...

Why are you trading for krug rights just to sign for 5 years? Would think trade for rights to sign 8th year.

Getting first dibs on Krug is why I traded for him. He’s also 29, so I don’t think Detroit would be making too much of a risk by getting him signed shorter term with big money. Look at last year, Kevin Hayes was acquired for a fifth, and was signed to a seven year deal. Plus Detroit would have guys coming in in a few years time, even guys like Dennis Chokes-on-dick, and Jared McIssac coming in. Even guys on the right side will see some time in the next few years.

I'm saying the bert contract is probably an overpayment i think Mantha's is about right my own OP though.

I’m literally following the sheep, also Krug wants the moon, and the pick is for the negotiation rights to him. It’s happened before, where a team got something in return.
