In terms of raw value, it makes sense

But OTT isn’t ready to win now, so are they gunna give that much up for a goalie when they have UFA options, options within their own org, or could draft askarov?

I think Murray’s gotta go to a contender. If OTT gets their goalie now he could be 30 by the time their window opens wide

how so? Murray's rumored value is a second and a prospect. Tierney was a productive 3c on a bad team. Considering guys like pageau we just traded got a first second and third in return, goodrow went for a first and even GMJR just gave up 15th overall and a prospect for a middle 6 winger. i don't see how Tierney cant fetch what the rumoured murray value is

Agreed... Goalie will be worth **** this summer... too many available and with the ED happing next spring, well, any goalie available just lost ton of values

Im not sure I agree with either of those assessments.

Murray had a bad year, but his total body of work shows definitively that he is a "starting goalie." Matt Murray is not Hasek, he is not Roy, but Matt is absolutely a starter and is going to be for damn near the next decade. That carries an incredible amount of value to every NHL team in the league.

Tierney has a lot of value too, hes a good cheap 3c with some youth and upside, teams pay out the nose for players like that. In the end, however; incredible value >>> a lot of value

I also think ZAR and Simon are more valuable than a 2nd.

what are you gunna draft in the second?? a player about as good as ZAR? lol

i like ZAR but hes still a 4th liner/bottom 6

I like second round picks but they are probably not landing a top 6 forward. Honestly you’ll be lucky to get a real nhl forward at all

yeah theyre pretty overrated in terms of drafting sometimes, but i can get like andreas johnsson and josh anderson for a second and a bit more which is more enticing than ZAR and simon

Well sure, but not every team can get every player. If your second gets you Anderson that’s great, but it’ll Anderson is gone ZAR and Simon are still a fair return
