Ristolainen+2nd is nowhere near enough for Mantha, And fat chance of Mantha signing for 6 x $4,400,000 it's already been reported that he'll sign a similar deal as Larkin either 6 x $6,100,000 or 7 x $6,100,000 and Krug isn't wasting his time in Buffalo for 6 x $7,000,000 he wants way more.

If Cozens or 8OA isn’t included Detroit immediately declines. I’m not saying Mantha is worth that much but we have no incentive to trade him otherwise. I’m guessing you’re really underrating Mantha considering you gave Ristolainen as the main piece and paid him less than 5 million.

Bro we have 0 intention of trading him, so with that in mind + division rival + he's just entering his prime + he's about to be one of the top power forwards in the league, buffalo will have to overpay to the point it hurts or they don't get him. We aren't gonna trade him for 1 or the other, neither are proven commodities yet. For us to actually trade him, that's what it takes, so the point is, we aren't trading him and it's irrational to think we would for anything less

Thats a bit overkill to be honest for a guy whos never had over 50 points in his entire career, not to mention injury problems.

He broke a hand fighting with Luke Witkowski (punch to the helmet), broke a finger fighting with Patrik Nemeth (cross-check to the hand), and missed a good chunk of last season because Jake Muzzin decided he was all in on WWE mode, and body slammed Mantha to the ice (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vvuSJ8NY1_k). His injury history is way overblown.

Also, he was almost at a point-per-game pace, and in his last 82 games (stretching into last season), had over 70 points, and had very good possession metrics on the worst team in the salary cap era. The guy can drive offense when he's not scoring.
Can we get over this "he's not that good" rhetoric now? Also, this trade is a joke and Detroit doesn't want Risto.
