I wouldn't do any of these. Especially the Islanders trade. Dobson looks terrific but so does Sandin and Liljegren looks like he's going to be really good too. Bellows is nothing, bad for TOm

Good to know! Isles would never accept this.

I'm torn on the Klingberg trade. On one hand, he'd be a fantastic addition, seems like a guy with a ton of talent and a ton of heart, I think of those last moments in the final where he backchecked like mad in a game he'd already lost with an empty net. But on the other hand he's 28, with 2 years left on his deal, while Nylander is 23, just hitting his prime, and on a great contract for another 4 years. Gonna be a no from the Leafs

Nylander's 24, but point taken.

Guess if both fanbases hate it then it's a fair trade value-wise lol

It just doesn’t make any sense for the isles. Dobson will be the best of the 4 and the isles are set at LD.

It really doesn't make sense for them either. You have some decent defenceman and Bellows isn't a 30+ or soon to be 30+ depth forward making 5+ million. If progresses more then you'll desperately need him to fill in for your aging declining next wave of terrible contracts and Dobson is terrific. The trade overall favors the Islanders since Liljegren's ceiling is way higher than Bellows and Sandin is very close to Dobson but the trade does nothing for TO except get them a RHD that is a little further along than Sandin.

Or it just doesn't make any sense. It's not far off on value it just doesn't make sense. The best player currently is Dobson but he's maybe a year a head of Sandin in his development with similar ceilings while Liljegren has a superior skillset to Bellows who would be hard pressed to make the Leafs. The Islanders have piles of bad contracts upfront that Bellows will need to make up for because he'll be cheaper and just as good soon as they start declining. It's just a trade that doesn't make any sense.

We have koivula and wahlstrom ready to step in next season , bellows is actually expendable. I didn’t know when you turn 30 you become a depth forward, thanks for pointing that out!

Sandin is not very close to dobson lol - he’ll be a very good #3. Liljeren would not make the isles so we’re on the same page! He couldn’t make the leafs who are desperate for RD. Let’s be honest, liljeren will be a solid 3rd pairing D.

Oh right I forgot I was talking to King of the Islander fans, all leaf prospects are just overrated. Especially the one who was the best player for his team last year at the world Juniors as well as the best defenceman at the tournament, was also an AHL all-star and made the Leafs at 19. Definitely just going to be a run of the mill 2nd pair guy.

Liljegren has been a good AHL defenceman since he entered that league which he did at 18. You know how many guys do that? Almost none, why? Because it's very hard to jump from Junior to a men's league as a teenager and yet, Liljegren did and has been improving ever since. He may be a decent 3rd pair guy now but again he's 21 and defenceman need to mature. What is his skill set? He projects to be a very good two way defender. My guess he'll be a top 4 guy who gets around 30 points and plays well in transition and his own end. He isn't Karlsson more like Strahlman. But you already know this and just tell yourself they all suck to make your self feel better. Poor fragile baby

I know sandin was a steal at 28 , but I think his skating and defensive ability with prevent him from being a top pairing guy.

I see liljeren as a solid 3rd pairing D. I think leafs fans overrate the hell out of him

You want to talk about a stud. Roberson is your best prospect by far. He’ll be a top line player.

Sandin is a good skater and will get to work with Barb Underhill, he's going to be really really good. Perhaps not an elite #1 but he's going to be a top pair defender without a doubt, similar to Kaberle, just silky smooth and so poised with the puck. He needs to get bigger as all 20 year old defenders do but he's special. Liljegren you are flat out wrong about. He may be exactly what Rielly needs in a partner. A terrific skater, smooth puck handler and defensively very sound. Won't put up a lot of points but he'll just be a solid player.

Saying Liljegren might be what Reilly needs in a partner is like saying Michael dal colle is what barzal needs on his wing.
