Gardiner isn't the defenceman they want. Gardiner's value has gone down a lot this season.

They'd want Pesce + Necas or Necas and 2 1st round picks including 13OA.

Thats ridicoulous. You dont just become the best goal scorer of all time. OVI had that locked down the second he entered the NHL. Laine isnt half the player Ovi is.
