Be easy on yourself. But yea all these trade lack the research it seems as value is way off on your own players as well as the ones you acquired. Ive done it before. It happens to the best of us.

I like to joke around but I stand by all of it and am happy to defend it. Respectfully, if you think these are far off I would say you are the one with the misconceptions, as I don't hold any strong biases in this scenario.

the Ana trade is close depending on how you view greer. Taking him out and swap him for a 2nd and its fair.

The NJD deal is a reach but they have stated to be open to moving one of their later picks for young roster help, here they get 2 players that both fill big areas of need, who are under 25 and have contract control, as well as a solid mid range prospect all for the lowest of the 3 1sts. They might be optimistically trying to get a higher upside player with the pick but I'd be curious what they could actually return that would be better for them.

The last one is just a trade down on the draft floor.

Finally Brodie getting paid big money to win a Cup has more or less few downsides from either end so I see no reason to be against that.

Clearly the very last signing is a troll

With that said ill look more into Greer and I'm glad this is just a troll. I know what hockey depression is like and I see it on here too much. Thanks for the response rock on

I'm not going to sit here and act like he is some super valuable trade piece, but I do think he is a NHL level player and worth more than the difference between a 3rd and a 2nd. Either option is reasonable but the deal overall is that Timmins is exactly the type of return Ana would be looking for and the Avs simply don't have a 2nd rounder this year so it fit a little better.

There are better offers for their 1st picks. Not a huge fan of Zadorov. On paper, he is something NJD would need...but then I watch him. Too many bone-headed hockey decisions.

My guess is that they are attempting to obtain a top-6 winger or top-4 d-man from cash strapped team and package the 1st along with cap space (and maybe other pieces)

I would actually be very interested to take a look around the NHL to see what the other options for that 1st rounder would be. I think it would be interesting. Would you happen to have any examples you could think of? There really aren't many serious top 6 F or top 4 D that teams would give up for only a mid/low 1st rounder that fits what NJD would likely be looking for.

In terms of pick #20 itself the only info we have heard so far is that NJD wants players 25 or younger and with term. Looking over previous years you usually can expect to get a player of a Compher or Zadorov's caliber from that pick range unless you take more risky players, so to get both, along with Beaucage, in terms of expected value is really solid. Both players also fill areas of need for NJD. It is possible that they could find something that fit better, but I think the deal I made is fair and sensible

I can totally respect if people have different valuations on players, but Zadorov does bring a ton of elements that NJD is currently looking for. He is a guy with a top 4 toolkit but its his inconsistency which holds him back, so its not surprising depending on the number of, or which games people watch that give such a wide range of opinions on him.
