Like i stated you threaten them with waivers, Then what choice do they've, Both Johnson and Palat would be easily claimed. Probably by Detroit and Ottawa.

Palat yes but after his playoffs why would you? Johnson no guarantee, why claim him and do Tampa a favour? Also a bunch of these guys came up through the minors together, may upset the locker room if you treat one too poorly.

Detroit, Ottawa, Minnesota, Florida, Winnipeg all could use 2C depth and Tyler Johnson would be the perfect candidate. Plus you can leave him exposed for Seattle next summer.

that OK but again.. think a 3rd or 4th in negotiated deal gets it done

For a 3rd or 4th I wouldn't do it. I'd go after Domi, Strome, or Haula as a UFA. His contract is high for a 3C, he's not young, and there is a lot of term left on his deal.

Or leave him on waivers and force Tampa to deal one of the cirelli or sergachev, or at least wait it out and see if he waives and make bolts deal a second with him. Johnson doesn't move needle enough to make it a guarantee a team grabs him, especially with flat cap

They'd be claimed noway i see either Johnson or Palat not being claimed since so many teams could use a 1C or 2C and a LW Gourde might pass through though.

Palat yes, Gourde maybe but Johnson not.

for BILLIONTH time .. NTC clauses don't mean crap in this flat cap COVID world .
Just wauve Johnson and Gourde if they say no .. saves 7 M in cap!!!!!! .. add that to 5M we have and we have 12 M for 3 RFAs.and 4 young scrubs

That's actually ironic thing to say considering that just yesterday it was made clear that OEL is not waiving his clause in order to be traded to Edmonton.

Even that Horny to FLA trade was almost turned down, but he decided that there's no point to play in a team that doesn't want to have you...

The guy is 30, he's small and pretty much on the decline. $5M for the next 4 years...yeah I'm not a fan. I used to be, but after seeing him in those playoffs I wasn't really impressed.

Until the expansion draft I expect TB to be stuck with the guy.

You wrong .. you save roughly 2/3 .
1/3 first year then spread out over number of years .. kicks can down road BUT can make a team better
