The Nick Leddy trades made sense before the Kings made a move for Maatta. They're no longer in the market for another LHD, I'd imagine.

Yeah he's a 25 goal scorer, Ladd and Komarov are nothing.

He also is signed to a higher cap hit for a lot longer than them. They are getting salary relief three years before they would with Parise’s contract. They take on these guys while they rebuild for two seasons while getting a pick and a prospect in the process. It’s a win win.
