Heads up to all Toronto fans - be prepared. You have a total diamond inked to a contract.

Mikko Lehtonen is a total beast. Amazing puck-handling D-man with a great shot. Overall a very clever player in all ends of the ice.

Has played 8 games this year in KHL with 6 goals and 6 assists. He's the best D-man currently playing in Europe.

In one of the Jokerit's players words: "Lehtonen is simply just too good to play in this league."

I see a lot of Morgan Rielly in the guy. Wouldn't be too surprised if he became the 2nd best D of your team pretty much instantly...only thing he needs is to get accustomed to a smaller rink.

do you think the smaller rink kind of makes his game tougher to adapt though? hes a playmaker that uses the open ice to make plays. theres alot less open ice in north american hockey.

I certainly think that is going to be probably the biggest challenge for him. But if he masters that pretty quickly, Leafs have an amazing option there.

I dare say he's already an upgrade over Barrie in terms of both offensive and defensive ability.
