Edmundson is more suited as a third pair guy with PK time imho. Mete can play both sides and Weber/Petry are aging. In the short term, sure, it might not make a ton of sense, but realistically, the Habs are not gonna be a contender for a few years anyway.

??? Weber have 6 more years and Petry 5 more years. No one are moving them, so the right side is set. Left side, Chiarot Edmundson Kulak Romanov Mete Ouellet and top prospect Norlinder Guhle and good prospects Struble Harris in the pipeline. We don’t need more LHD

We also have fleury and brooks as rh def no need for Murray here and we can argue about that but i think the habs are 1 good foward away to be in the top teams

Bruh Weber is 35, Petry is 32. They are not gonna be high end players for another 5-6 years.

Yes they are if you watched some MTL games
Petry the most unlikely, smooth skater, I can’t see him falling from a cliff
Weber never been a great skater, but he’s extremely effective

I think that you wildly overestimate the value of Nyquist and Wennberg to a team intent on cutting payroll and cap.

Ducks pass, they would just lose one of Korpi or Gibson to Seattle, and a lottery ticket in 2 years a AHLer and a 4 does nothing for ANA

I dont understand why CBJ fans always think that those teams are going to accept those big contracts who are worthless

They're effective now yes and I don't claim they'll regress to pylons, but to expect them to be elite for another 5 years is unrealistic.

That's fair I guess, but they really lack forward depth and their trade for Hornqvist suggests a willingness to take some veterans and a change of scenery could do wonders for Wennberg. I could defintely see a lesser return though.

I'm not a CBJ fan, but Nyquist is a solid top 6 player. Nutivaara is a solid dman. They only real bad contract I dumped was Wennberg, which is pretty much irrelevant now with his buyout.
