I love the Barrie signing. He's gonna score 40+ points just on the PP next season in EDM. I doubt he'd be willing to take a 1 year deal though. Had he signed an extension before last season he'd be looking for max term at $6M+ AAV. Bear can probably be signed for less on a 1-2 year deal, but I don't mind the 3 years.

As far as Fleury goes, I think Vegas only moves him if they sign a big money UFA and have no other option. If that happens, I can't see them getting as much as a 2nd rounder for him, even with the salary retention. You gotta figure Fleury is worth about $2.5M based on his performance from the past 2 years. That's about in the middle of what Lundqvist and Holtby got He's trending down and his numbers could look much worse on a much weaker defensive team in EDM. I wouldn't pay more than a 3rd or 4th rounder for him.

I think EDM has a chance to be much better next season if they can solidify their goaltending.

Which UFA Winger would be the best fit for McDavid? Dadonov? Hoffman? Toffoli? Hall?

Dunno, you'd think Hall but it didn't work so great the first time. Maybe Dadonov, he'll probably be the cheapest of those.

Chiasson isn't payment for Bjork, need to actually give something. Actually having nothing coming to Boston would be better than Chiasson straight up. Bjork is much lower cap hit, signed at that price for 3 years, and 6 years younger, apart from being a better player.

Well the one year they played together, McDavids first year in the league. McDavid had 48 points in 45 games and Hall had 65 in 82. Seemed to work fine.

One pure finisher naturally (Toffy/Hoffy) and a hybrid winger like Hall or Dado who does all the little stuff well and can both create & finish with ease

But some good low cost options for that would be Duclair (finisher) @3M + Colin Wilson (hybrid) @ 1.5M

It's insane they never tried out Brandon Pirri there

Absolutely Barrie is so underrated

Funny players don't sign cheap tradeoff deals with contracts stipulating PP1 time / specific linemates

I'd love to see Barrie sign a 1x3 in Edmonton like that and then to hit the open market after 60+ points
