Huge Shock getting Pietro

Description
Carolina abandons their usual tactics and spend big in FA. They still would have plenty of expiring contracts next year taht could allow them to sign Svechnikov next year. Dougie Hamilton may have to walk next year depending on what he ask for, but maybe they could work a deal for Neiderreiter to Seattle or make a bold move and leave Trocheck unprotected to free up cap to also bring back Dougie. By that time Suzuki may be able to get some minutes in the NHL so losing Trocheck wouldn't be terrible. I mean or find a way to get Seattle to take Gardiner. They have options here, and plenty of freedom with these moves. Due to their great approach to signing Aho and Teravainen it gives them flexibility. They can afford to give up a 1st rounder/2nd rounder to Seattle so they absord a contract. AFter next offseason if they can also free up enough cap to keep Hamilton then their team would be pretty much locked up for the foreseeable future. They'd only have to worry about Necas and a goalie moving forward for a while.

Obviously Pietrangelo may not want to play in Carolina, but just assume that he does and likes the culture they have brewing in Carolina for this scenario.

To be honest, I definitely gave them a favorable deal. They may need to give up a first instead of a 2nd, but I figure Brink was a high end 2nd rounder last year, with a lot of potential. Rubtsov has lost some trade value, but he's well liked by some for doing the "small things" right so a 3rd line center in the future not bad for Arizona. Kind of fits with that team. Laughton of course fits in anywhere. Could also see them using Laughton and Rubtsov for one of the columbus goalies instead as both Laughton and Rubtsov fit what Columbus wants to do and what they like.

Not an unfair haul for Kempe, but the Kings have no desire to trade him right now. I think they say no.
