Cheaper to acquire or contract? 3x3 is probably a steal.

Zito also implied yesterday in response to Friedman that they plan to keep Weegar

The trade value. 3m is his rumoured ask. Hard to go by what Gm’s say these days. Army came out and said a petro deal wasn’t off the table... like wtf does he think he is going to pull off lol.

Weegar would be a good fit in Toronto. For the same reason he is probably a good fit in fla.

GMs rarely say their players are available and I don't think that Friedman was making it up.

Weegar only has one year of playing top pair under his belt and while he did well, I don't think that he'll command more than $3mil AAV. Not sure if he's arb eligible, so that might be an avenue for contract resolution.

I initially had the trade as Korshkov, Dermott, and a 5th but thought that was too low so I bumped it up to a third. If Dubas can pull a Weegar trade off for less than I what I put here, I'll be absolutley ecstatic. My only reservation with Weegar is how well he'll fare on the right side.

That guy apparently used to work for the Panthers. Considering that he also played with Ekblad last season (another righty), I think it's fair to say that Weegar prefers the left-side. But on Toronto, I'd still try him out on the right-side first.
