Murray Signing means what to LA?

Description
The signing of Murray was a tremendous deal, but PIT just shot themselves in the foot. They're most likely not keeping (3) goalies so they need to waive Condon when Murray comes back. LA swoops in and get a 1 year Mike Condon as another option while Quick is injured. LA can't afford much more and they get Condon.....FOR FREE

As a Habs fan, I liked Condon. He got a bum deal last year when the whole damn team fell apart and he got thrown in over his head/to the wolves. That being said, if your goal is to have him save your team and have you within striking distance of the playoffs . . . well, you better hope someone with the Pens teaches him how to not give up a goal in the first 10 minutes of every game and what "rebound control" might mean.

I hear ya. I'm certainly not saying he's Price, but he checks the boxes for what they need and I tend to agree with you that he got a bad rap in MTL due to forced workload.

Condon is not an upgrade. If that's their only option, they might as well just stay with Zatkoff.

exo2769. What's the big problem with Kings claiming Condon? (if it happens). It's waivers, teams can only retain so many players. What was Pittsburg option.? Keep Murray on LTIR all season?

Agreed. Not to mention that Condon is an AHL goalie/back up at best. Love the guy but losing him really won't make anyone cry themselves to sleep.

Just saw this. A little late to respond. There's absolutely NOTHING wrong with LA claiming Condon. That's actually what I think LA should do, which is why he's on the roster. He checks all the boxes of what LA needs for the immediate temporary situation.
