Overall though, it’s been a good offseason. Unless Russel gets moved, thsi team is likely done shopping. Though I would like them to get a good ld.

Idk, I think the Oilers have done pretty well, still think they need a top 6 winger but adding Barrie that cheaply plus Turris for a song was pretty good, can't complain about that.

They likely have room to add if Klefbom is confirmed out for the season. Could bring in more Veteran LHD (Greene), Younger option (KoekKoek) and a middle 6 guy to hopefully play top 6 so many options (Sheary, Kahun, AA, Namestinkov, Granlund, Galchenyuk, Leivo, etc). A lot of these guys could end up in the 1-1.5M range

Few good moves but last one took the shine off. Overall I feel the team is stronger just worried about a LHD injury. I think an Andy Greene/Kulikov at 1M might be a safe bet for insurance

Won't take long for you guys to realize just how overrated Holland is. Have no doubt he will take the beautiful foundation of McDavid and Drai and tear it to the ground with overpaid vets and role players. Can't wait to see it happen.

He traded picks and Gagner for AA and then didn't qualify him....LOL

Exactly. There’s only one reason a team in the start of a rebuild would remove the longest tenured GM in the NHL. They don’t trust his ability to turn the team around to a cup contender again.

All good options but I'd say AA, Namestnikov, Granlund, Galchenyuk would be the best forward options.

I really thought Namestnikov should of been a target for the Oilers last season, a guy who's played top 6 before and did fairly well, can't believe he was traded twice for a 4th and Ottawa and the Avs were the team who acquired him.

AA would have been qualified if it wasn't for Covid.. just look at all the other GMs that were forced to walk away from qualifying offers. You clearly have not been following what Holland has been doing last 2 years because as of now it seems he has learned from past mistakes isn't signing bunch of long term UFA contracts. Holland has also found places to loan out more players then any other GM allowing most of our prospects to continue developing.

Trust me, I have watched Holland for over 20 years, I know EXACTLY what he is doing and what he is going to do. Every GM has been signing these short term deals due to the flat cap, so that's not an indication of him changing. Once things go back to normal, I have no doubt he will go back to the Holland that absolutely destroyed the Wings roster once Pav, Z, Lidstrom & co slowly left the league. No eye for talent and a ridiculous obsession with "men".

Real bummer too, because I really like the Oils and obviously want to see McDavid succeed.
