In this hypothetical situation, OTT would absorb the 3m retained salary on Eriksson, not Vancouver, only in order to hit the cap floor. Could easily be a team like NJD as well, but went with OTT here

Ottawa doesn't buy draft picks, talk to NJD

Now if it were Nino Niederreiter instead of Victor Rask, probably still a no.

Sorry Min fans, that trade still shocks me
