No way would I give a 2nd and a 3rd for Virtanen. He's not a difference maker, and I don't see him being more than a stop gap in Ottawa until better options arrive.

1) The trade seems one-sided. I can't imagine the Senators sending away a 2nd and 3rd round pick for rather expensive bottom 6 forwards.
2) And that 3rd line looks very inexperienced and prone to making mistakes.

Yeah. You can get a 3rd for Virtanen and won’t get anything for Sutter even with retention. That’s still doing Vancouver a favour.
Only way to dump money at this point is by taking back bad money. Vancouver can’t give up another 1st rounder 2 years in a row with a cap crunch.
