That'll be a no from CGY. No point moving very important parts of the core for one player and a bunch of meh.

That is a horrible trade for Calgary. The actual difference in skill and what the player provides
between Lindholm and Marner is more than made up for by Lindholm making a 4/9ths of what Marner makes. Then you have the Flames add all that?

How about Lindholm, Lucic and a 1st for Marner instead?

Yeah you're right. I've updated - I think this is more fair. I just don't like the Lucic contract - too big for what he brings to the table.

I think the leafs have to get rid of that marner contract (as amazing as a player marner is) so that they can better allocate those dollars to the rest of the team. Can improve that defense a bit more as well as adding some strong third/fourth line presence.

Nope still awful for Flames, again the difference in skill between Marner and Lindholm is not big. Next to Matthews Lindholm is an 80-85 point 2-way player that can also run the pk. So the drop off is 10 points for 6M cap space

DIdn't Lindholm's point totals drop back to historical numbers last year? Doesn't that decrease his value? Regardless, UGH Dubas screwed us over with these HUGE contracts. What if I drop the prospect?

I just dont see a logical trade here, Flames have almost no cap space to work with right now. Just keep your core as is and move Dermott for for a 3rd
