Don't hate the Mitts trade, but McNabb is not the answer for second pair LD

I can't think of anyone else to go for. I wanted Nutivaara but he's been traded. Schmidt is gone... Cap Space is low. He's better than our defense last year.

I agree. I'm totally down to get on our knees and beg for Pilut to come back, but a big move for Vince Dunn would be cool. I think Jake Gardiner wouldn't be a bad acquisition either

Gardiner is atrocious. Vince Dunn is my guy. He'll cost the entire Moon to trade for though.

He played 20min a night for VGK and spent time paired with Doughty in LA
McNabb would be a perfect addition

If you look at Evolving-Hockey, his RAPM and GAR% analytics are very good. Had one down year with Carolina and doesn't really fit their system, but would be a perfect 2nd pair option for us to play with Jokiharju

Can't see Korpi going anywhere unless there's a no-doubt top-6 LW coming back. That's our big remaining need, and there's no real temptation for Columbus in what you've offered.

Just another one of Murray's great trades.
A second pairing defenseman and two seconds for Career AHL forwards.
McNaab for Faschings and Deslauriers would have too much, then add in the two seconds, terrible.
BTW that same time Murray turned down first, third, green, pearson for moulson and erhoff.

Botts may not have been great,
but he took over an utter mess from GMTM
He needed more time to clean up that disaster

He was close, it took another utter disaster after the TDL to miss the preliminaries.
I was on a long cruise and could not keep up with local sports.
I saw the Sabres play really well and win against the Caps.
Little did I know that was their first win in 7 games.

Do I need to be reminded.
How would our LHD look now if we had McNabb

Here I thought I was the only Sabre CF AGM who absolutely hated DATM.

Yes, Botterill made mistakes.
While I thought hiring Krueger was one of his whoppers, Hall stated he came here in part to play for Ralph again.
Maybe that was the plan, IDK.
Botterill certainly bugger the Scandella/Frolik disaster.
He may have also wanted too much from Tampa in the Ristolainen deal (I am still asking around about that one, I will be the first to complain if he overplayed his hand).
