Höglander would be right back in Europe or Laval at best. WIth 3.3M$ to spend, you could sign at 2.5M$/yr Duclair who'd put up numbers for the team.

Galy at VAN is also hard because of cap space over there. They don't have and would need to move someone which isn't easy right now with the number of teams over the cap;

I don't mind the Byron trade. Whether you get a 7th or a 3rd for him it's basically moving out money to make space.

**EDIT sorry - just saw it's for next year! LOL! Never mind! Höglander would still go to Laval I think LOL!**

The only players the habs should be thinking about moving is Dourin and Armia. Dourin is a scared little man on the ice and Armia would sooner pass the puck in the slot then shoot it.

If he were to move Gally this team would not make the playoffs.

It's extremely unlikely that the Canucks trade Podkolzin or Hoglander for only one guaranteed year of Gallagher. Here's why:

1. There is absolutely no cap-room for a Gallagher extension beyond 20-21. The Canucks need to extend Hughes and Pettersson and will likely be spending $20m ACV to do so.
2. Because of the above extensions—the Canucks will need to rely on Podkolzin's ELC and Hoglander's ELC to bridge the flat cap crunch. They cannot afford to trade away contracts with such low ACV.

You should say Sorry to Gallagher now that he is signed! Will be our captain in 3 more years when Weber retires. Weber captain for 3 more and then Gallagher for 4 after that. It all lines up. Tatar and Bryon are the ones who are likely not with us after this season

lol. People still think 28-34 is over the hill eh? Gallagher is a fitness freak. You owe him an apology. Remember the BS comments on Weber? Some fans saying he will decline? He's 35 next year and no decline evidence yet.

Gallagher from 28-34 is solid. He's not lazy like Gomez. I've seen several Habs fans say he's signed till 36 or 37 which is 100% false! Some are exaggerating to astronomical levels.

35+ is where you start to worry to some degree on decline. Not 30-35.

Correct. Weber has not declined and his age 30+ stats are on par to his career stats. He was never an elite level skater in his 20's. Keep trying
