New Trade Protection Rules

Have we seen anything like this before, where the trade protection on a contract exists beyond the bounds of the contract itself? Is this perhaps a new thing that is allowed with the new CBA? @Banks @Jarvis

This has happened a few times over the years, Carey Price's extension is another example

Spurgeon got the same thing last year when he signed his new deal. It basically just means that the team can't pull a sign and trade on the player.
