It's offensive (in more ways than one). But it's a no brainer that it'll change in a matter of year or two almost completely.

I doubt they trade him...would really be surprised if he is not resigned. (5 years x $6-7 million). If they did trade him, it would be for more than Jake Gardiner and a pick. Hard to overstate how big of a hole his loss would create in lineup. Impact player in so many ways.

This is why trading Severson would be tough. But give it a year or two. They have one of the best defensive prospect pools in all of hockey.

That Hoffman deal looks a lot like the old Mike Cammalleri deal - turned out to be a terrible signing.
