When did Howden become an "offensive minded bottom 6er"?

Because the defensive side of his game has been rough so far in the NHL. He does have a very decent amount of skills and skates very well but for the love of god, play him on the wing.

I would be careful in moving Laf to centre, while he might be able to make the switch I don't think you want to do that in his first year.
If he plays centre and then his production isn't there and then he loses confidence that could spiral, I think you play him at the position that he is comfortable with and then make the move when he's ready and proven to himself that he can produce at the NHL level.
