I thought it was pretty fair for both sides. You guys get an ELITE winger, the Hawks get a good haul back. They would be fine with taking Okposo, because who are they going to pay anyways? Once Debrincat needs a new deal, Lucic and Okposo are gone.

Hawks are looking at more of a LA rebuild. This is a full on ottawa rebuild.

Fair Enough. I just saw a chance for you guys to go all in. It rids you of the Lucic contract, and you get a great center to pair with Monahan. I know Dube + Hanifin is a little rich though, especially when you add in Pelletier and the 1st.

Yeah I just thought it would be a fun thought experiment. Honestly though I'm not sure which would be better for them. Ottawa's rebuild is going pretty well. I mean imagine if LA had blown it up what their future core would look like. Toews and Kane's primes years are coming to a close (if they haven't already). I'm not sure this team is that much worse than what they have right now. Either way they won't make the playoffs.

I do not agree with that at all. Also I think Chicago is going to be looking at more of a Rangers rebuild.

The Rangers had more pieces to sell though. Nash, Zuuc, Stepan, McDonagh, then lower tier guys like Grabner, Holden, etc. Plus they had more recent success (made 2017 playoffs, beat the Habs and then lost to the Sens.) The Hawks haven't been good the last two years and IDK if anyone really wants DeHaan, Murphy, Shaw, Smith, Zadorov, etc. (and who would they replace those dmen with lol)

I had Stutzle above Byfield and Ottawa will have one of the best d cores in the league in a few years

Personally I wouldn't give up more than 2x 1st and Mangiapane for Toews.
