It's not terrible in theory though the blues fanbase will find every possible way to make it look awful.

I do think DeBrusk is overrated a bit and Dunn is underrated. Value balancing is needed for sure - but the idea is not horrible. STL needs another top 6 LW. Sanford ain't it in STL (overutilized) and I am fine with his involvement in this package.

In general, Dunn is the best player in this deal yet STL is the team adding. Boston will need to add a good chunk of value back the other way - but I'll give you credit for a solid idea in basis.

I agree with much of your commentary, but I don;t know what the Sanford part is supposed to mean. At his cap hit, he's quite valuable and is just coming into his own offensively. He's not some throwaway who doesn't fit into the Blues game.

Sanford ain't it as a top 6 LW. That's where STL tends to use him, despite that he isn't a top 6 LW. He is an alright stopgap, but shouldn't be a long term solution and instead expendable to get a true upgrade.

This "top 6" stuff ain't it. Sanford hits, defends, moves the puck, plays solid possession and has 14g 9a in his last 35 games. He's a rapidly improving power forward that makes peanuts. That's not something to toss out willy nilly. We won a Cup finals with him playing "top 6" and finished top of the West with him playing "top 6". He's not a problem. In fact, with our cap status, he's a fine asset.

Edit: Hell, Sanford had more point shares than DeBrusk last season despite playing over 200 fewer minutes. I just checked.
