My Version of the Oilers Ovi Gretzky originally created by ConnorMcJesus

Created by: PeterK
Team: 2021-22 Edmonton Oilers
Initial Creation Date: Oct. 26, 2020
Published: Oct. 26, 2020
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Or ignore the trades as they cancel out in terms of CAP hit pretty much.

Point being Ovi needs more money, Hall isn't coming back and Barrie is redundant and a downgrade from Klef. Everything else was just messing around.

No thanks Mo Seider will be a solid 200 foot monster, His ceiling should be in the 30-40 point range. He'll be our Trouba and Ekblad clone.

Rejecting a solidified solid defenseman for a project who is below half a point per game in the AHL?

No he won't. He would have to enter the league this year and put up 30 points. He's not there yet. Can't say he will be that good until he proves he can play in the NHL. And he won't be doing it on Detroit that for sure. Take Nurse and run.

Seider is 19, played his first season on the smaller North American ice, and was roughly half a point per game while being good defensively. In what world does he qualify as a project?
Nurse is good, sure, but is making over $5M in a flat cap. Seider is on his entry level deal. Seider also shoots right and plays the right side. His ceiling is right around, if not a bit above Nurse in his prime.

This trade makes absolutely no sense to a rebuilding team. Nurse would walk as soon as his contract was up, and he's not good enough to get this team back into the playoffs. Hard pass, Wings would keep their prospect, you can keep Nurse.

Nurse is a 3/4, seider is a 1/2. He projects better and looks better then nurse. Don't listen to these guys who are trolling. If any of them are serious they really don't know much about the NHL

Hahaha what??!! Nurse is a 3/4? hahaha and a 19 year old who has only proven he can play at LESS then half a point per game in his first AHL season is a proven 1/2. Omg. You're kidding me. Det is the only team that had him as high as they did when they drafted him. He's going to be a good D but c'mon. He's proven nothing to warrant everything you two are saying. The chance of him developing into Ekblad or Trouba or a 1/2 is not very high, him developing into a top 4 probably 95% given he doesn't get seriously injured. Nurse on the other hand has played top 4 minutes all but 1 season in the NHL, with top 1/2 minutes as well when needed. This season he will be EDM #1 D man and he has proven he can hold his own in all positions. He's no Josi or Hedman or doughty but he would play top 2 on any team that doesn't have some pretty obvious big names. Nurse would become Detroit's 3rd best player behind only Mantha and Larkin. You're right, Nurse does nothing for Detroit's rebuild but you have no evidence that Sieder will be better. Literally 0

Yes there is. With thinking like that DET is going to stay a bottom feeding team for years to come.

While Ovi with McDavid is fun to think about (especially as an Oilers fan), I'm 99% sure he'll retire a Cap.

Yup and we are happy to do that again this year, but unlike Edmonton we will eventually be good. Keep trading those picks holland! Love the mike smith signing btw, going to really help you get past that first round.

That sucked. DET sucks. At least EDM actually has players that makes watching them fun.

Absolutely they will. Almost half were complete busts or traded away and they are still fun and exciting to watch.

How exactly do you know Moritz's ceiling? If he turns out to me Nurse y'all should be very happy imo
