Min is looking to trade Dumba, they need a centre. Tierney is a middle6 centre on a cost effective contract. Thomson was Ottawa’s first round pick in 2019, and is a right shoot D. A lot of fans don’t have confidence in Ottawa moving up the standings, so the pick would be viewed as an early 2nd.
Ottawa gets a good, high minute RD to play with Chabot, can give a RD prospect because of acquiring the RD Dumba.
Min gets $2.5MM in cap space
That's a no!
Re-read your comment, and maybe you'll see where you went wrong.
Joel Eriksson-Ek, Bonino, Bjugstad, Sturm.... we already have too many centers who fill that same range as Tierney. It's a decent offer don't get me wrong, but it's not that we need centers, because we do, it's
what type of center we need.
Which is a top sixer. Someone to hold down the fort until Rossi is ready to take over at 1C. IE, a Danault, Dvorak, Henrique, Cirelli, Stastny type of player.
Getting the drift?
Guerin wants either a top sixer or a good young prospect and a high pick for Dumba. Note, that's a high pick, not a high round pick. Think top 15 1st rounder. That's the price, and Guerin is capable of standing firm on those demands, as we don't have to move him if we don't get what we want.
