Min is looking to trade Dumba, they need a centre. Tierney is a middle6 centre on a cost effective contract. Thomson was Ottawa’s first round pick in 2019, and is a right shoot D. A lot of fans don’t have confidence in Ottawa moving up the standings, so the pick would be viewed as an early 2nd.

Ottawa gets a good, high minute RD to play with Chabot, can give a RD prospect because of acquiring the RD Dumba.

Min gets $2.5MM in cap space

That's a no!

Re-read your comment, and maybe you'll see where you went wrong.

Joel Eriksson-Ek, Bonino, Bjugstad, Sturm.... we already have too many centers who fill that same range as Tierney. It's a decent offer don't get me wrong, but it's not that we need centers, because we do, it's what type of center we need.

Which is a top sixer. Someone to hold down the fort until Rossi is ready to take over at 1C. IE, a Danault, Dvorak, Henrique, Cirelli, Stastny type of player.

Getting the drift?

Guerin wants either a top sixer or a good young prospect and a high pick for Dumba. Note, that's a high pick, not a high round pick. Think top 15 1st rounder. That's the price, and Guerin is capable of standing firm on those demands, as we don't have to move him if we don't get what we want.

Thanks for the comments.

I think Tierney stacks up with all those guys, except maybe Danault. This isn’t the SJS Tierney. He’s 26 and his previous two seasons are more in line with what his next few seasons will be like. Ottawa wasn’t exactly a powerhouse scoring team, and Tierney did well. But it’s all good, this is just speculation anyway.

It will be interesting what the final package for Dumba will be. Cheers.

Jeez that's a hard sell on Tierney.. I like the trade and it definitely holds some merit. I'm thinking if the Wild have a limited amount of takers before the expansion draft, this is a pretty quality return
