    he'll be like 27 or 28, and we're keeping him until 34 or 35?

Until 33, which is acceptable considering he does not base his play on his speed, but on his defensive game. He'll age just fine.

I would have a little more faith in Peohling than this projection. If we resign Danault than Peohling should be converted to LW and I would hope crack top 9

He definitely has the talent, but he needs to work harder as a lot of greedy youngsters like RHP will be pushing hard for roster spots.

Bergevin would sign that contract. Lehkonen I'm pretty sure would not. Probably the best option for Lehkonen, I think, would be for him to sign either a 1 or 2 year extension before the season. The cost certainty to the team will pretty much guarantee that he locks in top 9 minutes with two excellent wingers. Likely makes one of the two between Tatar and Byron expendable. Lehkonen will then likely get paid a lot more on his next deal, but it also gives the Habs flexibility in having cost certainty for at least 2 more years (when they'll need the cap space most).

I think it's hard to imagine Poehling accomplishing more than Mete in his ELC, especially given that he's coming off a 10.2(c) with a full season being burnt for a single game.
Safe to say that none of our young players coming off of entry level (Juulsen, Poehling, Fleury, etc.) can expect more than NHL minimum salary, $750k starting next season.

Thing is, Lehkonen won't be that much better than he is now, so he may opt for financial security and stability à la Sissons and Jarnkrok.

As an overall player, I agree. For me, he's already excellent. But I do think his goal scoring is about to start to improve substantially. Especially with the linesmates that he figures to play with 5 on 5 this year.
