I bet Nathan Legare has a shot to make the team too. He is the captain of his team in the Q. Had 71 points in 61 games last year and 87 points in 68 games the year b4.

And is N.Robertson Canadian?! I know he plays in the Q league, WHL, or OHL. He doesn’t sound Canadian when he talks though but I’m not sure. I never really thought about it.

Robertson is American, and I highly doubt Legare has a shot to make this team given he wasn’t even one of the 27 forwards invited to camp lol

Didn’t know there was an invite yet.lol. I thought being 20 and being the captain of his team and has had great years back to back for the CHL. I thought he’d have a shot.

Yeah the problem is that Canada is just super stacked. If Laf doesn’t go I think this team except with Krebs over Holloway or Wright 100% (and imo Lapierre over the other, but that’s debatable) will be the squad, which leaves off obviously both Holloway and Wright then, as well as the reigning WHL scoring champ Beckman, and other top prospects that you would assume are locks in most years like Pelletier, Rees, Suzuki, Zary, and Jarvis.

I think Holloway makes the team. He's a strong, fast forward who checks like a demon. Team Canada loves those types of guys. In the two games he played before camp he was lights out, best player on the ice for his team. Only issue is he is only allowed to skate with 2 other players for two weeks. I would imagine there will be a couple guy who may not show well in camp and he'll take one of there spots. His overall game is too good not to make the team

You could say the same about most of the fringe guys though. I personally think the wingers and first two centres on this team, plus Krebs, are very likely to make it, which only leaves one spot for Beckman (WHL scoring champ), Lapierre (great 2-way game and high-end skill, phenomenal at Hlinka-Gretzky last year playing setup man for Perfetti), Pelletier (another well rounded 2-way guy who is also a good playmaker), Holloway (strong on the forecheck and nice hands), and Wright (younger, but a phenom). I just feel like they're more likely to bring a better 200-foot player like Lapierre, especially because I think putting him between Perfetti and Mercer is an ideal depth line for Canada, as they trust Mercer defensively and Lapierre is strong enough in that regard to make it a good checking line, while still having the high-end skill and pre-existing chemistry with Perfetti. A shutdown line that can take hard matchups and still provide depth scoring would be great to support the studs in the top 6 so they can just worry about offense.
