Maatta's stock is pretty low I reckon.. And Jets won't take a LH/Left Side dman for Trouba.

Don't see JR trading Maatta for Trouba, By all indications Trouba eventually wants to come home to Detroit and play there. Doubt he would commit long term there.

Not looking for a long term commitment, looking to improve for 2 years to try for more cups.

Then that's something that i could see happening, Though even for 2-3 years only i still doubt that JR would part with Maatta unless Trouba committed long term and don't see that happening.

trouba is controlled for at least this season plus 3 more. After the 2 year contract the team that has his rights can just file arbitration the next 2 years.

Exactly and then that team that controls his rights. Overhardt and Trouba then can decide if Trouba wants to commit long term with said team.

Yup but thats still 4 years of control. With a player that lives in florida in the off season so why people keep saying Detriot is silly.

That seems odd to me, as part of the reason they were disappointed with Trouba is that he wouldn't switch to the right side..

Trouba wants to play RHD in a top 4 role. Winnipeg wanted him to play with Big Buff on the left side. That`s why Trouba said he wanted out of Winnipeg.

Despite his slow start, Maatta has quietly improved since the beginning of the season. Even though he hasn't been putting up points, his defensive game has been great.

No.......

Its bc they make him play left side and he wants to pay right side. Are you following this at all or just making stuff up?
