Just eyeballing it and I’m not a Canucks fan so I don’t have a ton of knowledge about them, but I don’t think they can afford the trade (Kane’s cap hit) and have room to sign Petey and Hughes? Plus Demko and Gaudette too.

for sure would be tight but i guess the assumption is they dump other assets eg eriksson

Really? Is Lind that good? Pearson holds pretty little value

Sharks paid an okay prospect (at the time) in O'Regan, a late 1st, and a 4th to get Kane from Buffalo. I forgot about the 4th but it doesn't make a huge change. I think Lind is probably a better prospect than O'Regan, and that first is likely to be higher than the 29th OA that ended up going to BUF. Brisebois isn't much of an excitement, but I think Pearson is worth a late 2nd or early 3rd. Maybe I was a bit overzealous with my statement. Might not be an "easy accept". I think the value is okay though.

Eventually the rebuild in San Jose will start, might as well get some value now before it is to late. DW needs to start getting draft picks and prospects or the next GM will if they miss the playoffs again.

I think they could find a way to make it work but it would be difficult.

He is a high 2nd round pick, most likely ends up as a 2nd/3rd line winger if he keeps on developing.

Im sure someone out there is willing to pay the proper price for a perennial 30 goal scorer who can forecheck, backcheck, fight and hit. Many teams would pay more than this.

Kane also decides where he want to play with his NTC.

Yes and he doesn't much like overly critical medias. He loves SJ, I seriously doubt he goes to Canada again despite VanCity being his home (and a pretty awesome city)

I'd accept Virtanen, 1st and Pearson.

VAN is pretty thin on RW so I don't see Virtanen going anywhere especially since they lost Toffoli and Leivo.

If van were to do the trade you said sj would have to take a contract on like ericksen or myers and van would give another 3rd

Then we are not compatible trade partners because taking Eriksson would require VAN sending another 1st not a 3rd, plain and simple.
