Kings decline, better options out there short term to get more picks. Kings aren't competing right now, so want a straight cap dump rather than a good player who will decline as he gets older when the Kings compete window opens.

Kings would trade him for value at the deadline possibly retaining cap and gaining a top available asset.

Similar to Tomas Vanek deals of the past.

You want the Kings to retain for four years? This is a terrible way to rebuild.

Then don't retain. he's certainly tradable at the deadline anyway. It's just about which level of asset you want to get for keeping him warm for someone.

Kings don’t need him or the risk of not being able to move him, if a team would take a player with four years on his contact there is little difference between now and the deadline. So just propose what team you think would take him and add this third. Kings don’t want this unless they overpay enough that they can’t say no.

It's crazy that people think Tyler Johnson is not the overpay on his own. I'm not gonna keep explaining why you are wrong but you are wrong.

30 teams had a chance to nab him and didn't, maybe I don't know value, but 30 NHL GMs saw him for free and said "no".

30 teams could grab McDavid for about 20 assets and they said no. That's not how this works. It's probable TB is asking too much and my offer is lower. The difference is people are asking to be paid to take Tyler and that's idiotic. What TB wants for him and what you guys think he's worth is a wide margin. Working within it is where a deal would happen.

They didn't see him for free did they?

Your response was, that you don't understand why Tyler Johnson is not an overpay on its own, and that you can't explain why I was wrong but I am wrong about the Kings not needing Tyler Johnson. I responded that, everyone had the opportunity to get him when he was on waivers. Then your response was that teams could grab McDavid for 20 assets. It's not about the offer, scroll back up, I'm saying it's not the right move for the Kings, he'll do great on several teams, there is no logic of him coming to the Kings when they are still rebuilding.
