Can’t work cap wise. To get hawks to retain that much will sky rocket the price far far far above this and this is already more than I’d want to see oilers pay. Nothing against Kane but oilers don’t need another superstar they need a guy like jp to work out.

Yes. One of the best players of all time for scraps is a great return if your brain is soup.

Not quiiiiite the same, as Drai is 25, vs. Kane being 32, but yes, basically.

By the same token Mitchell and Nylander are more valuable than Pulju and Samorukov, but I digress. I exaggerated a bit on purpose.

Oilers need to figure out how to get their bottom 6 together. The play-in round against the Hawks showed how weak the Oilers bottom 6 were, a very top heavy team up front

Oilers added kahun turris brought back JP only subtraction was sheahan... I think they solved the bottom six issues. That play in round against the hawks isn’t worth really using as an evaluation they clearly weren’t prepared from the pause and came out very sloppy and nothing resembling the team threw out the season which is a much larger sample size.

Kahun is a great add and JP should be a great player. The play-in is play off hockey. Regular season is a very hard indicator every year to play-off hockey where the game changes quite a bit to more physical, more speed, etc. We see this every year where a top team in the regular season by points gets bounced early. Regular season is just too long for players so you have players who aren't bringing 110% to the ice every night so harder to judge.
