I agree this price on Kreider may be high, but a "win now" team would take it. Maybe not at this price or Nashville specifically, but someone probably would.

Honestly, I don't think Smith is the worst player to have. I think he's terrible for his current price tag ($4.35 million) but he's a versatile guy who played 4th line forward and 3rd line d man in a tough year. especially with COVID running rampant, he might not be the worst guy to have as a healthy scratch at a lower price

I can't see NSH trading a 1st+ for any 30+ year old players with long-term, big money contracts. They seem to be going in a different direction by trying to get younger right now, so I don't think a deal like this is in the books for them.

though kreider is 29, you make a good point. the team isn't particularly relevant to me, though I do like Jarnkrok's game. reminds me of Jesper Fast (rest in carolina)

I mean, he's 30 in 4 months and this is a 21-22 team -- not 20-21, so he'd actually turn 31 in his first season with NSH.

I'm open to trading Jarnkrok, but not sure what NSH would want from the NYR other than some of their young defenseman. I could also see Ekholm being traded, and he may be of interest to a team like NYR.
