      Just curious why would you trade Deangelo? Didn’t he play real well for the Rangers and just signed a 2 year bridge deal at a respectable salary?

      You literally traded him “anywhere for picks”.
      Doesn’t seem too valuable, here.

      Don’t need to move d until there’s a reason to. As of now, they’re still one of the worst defensive units in the league. He’s not expendable until the defensive corps improves

      Two words: asset management. There's a chance Strome gets exposed, but unless DeAngelo has a terrible season, he'll be protected. Why not get something of value back for both, especially since you can? Let Seattle take Howden/Hajek (hopefully they protect Gauthier)

      Almost every team will have asset management problems. Why pay for one asset, say Strome, and lose another asset as well???
