I’d sooner just avoid the signings and bring bouch benson and or Mcloed along for the taxi ride than the signings. I think all 3 guys are ready to be with the practicing and rotating into the line up.

I agree with Bouch (will be 4RD, should get into about 15-20 games with injuries). He's played more than 20 games in Sweden, so if he totals 40 combined that is a fine year when the NHL and AHL are 50 some games max anyway (reasonably predicting things will still be disrupted with positive COVID issues on teams at times). Benson probably up too, but hopefully we offload Chiasson or someone with a higher cap if we can so he has a better chance to see 10-15 games of action. As for McLeod, IMO he should just stay in the Swiss league until AHL opens, I don't think I'd put him in the lineup over Quine this season tbh, which makes him the 7th C on my list. Better for him to continue to craft his all around game.

I don't mind seeing Bouchard make it. I'm actually really cheering for Benson to make it. However, with Benson I don't want him coming up and playing with Khaira and Archibald or something like that. I think it's a waste of his talents and won't show anyone what he can truly do. If he does come up I'd like to guarantee he'd play with a scorer or two. If Haula is there, then he could see either Turris or Haula as his center and Neal or Kassian as his RW. Maybe even Puljujarvi. If he gets some goal scorers to play with against 3rd and 4th line competition, I think we could see a 3rd or 4th line really take off. He's never really had the opportunity to play with an elite scorer. Reuniting Neal and Haula with Benson could be found gold. Neal and Haula scored at a 60 goal pace together in 2017-18. If I could I'd unload Chiasson and Kassian to make something happen. I agree that McLeod should stay in the NHL. He hasn't scored at a high enough rate in any league to be considered for NHL duty yet. Not sure he'll ever get there. I think Lavoie, Holloway and Savoie all might beat him to the NHL.

The other thing I'm uncertain of is how the taxi squad affects the cap. Could you go with a roster of 20 and a taxi squad of 4 and have only the 20 count against the cap? That opens up cap space for a lot of teams. If that is the case, we might see a rush of signings as soon as it is clear/announced. I know teams don't have to carry 23 on their roster currently if they have to to stay under the cap.
