Description

It's only a hypothetical situation, but if Perry makes the lineup, who gets bumped out? the only reasonable player imo is Byron. I don't see Lehkonen or Armia getting bumped out over him, and you also have to take into consideration that whoever is getting bumped out, with the salary they are making, can't just be a healthy scratch and will need to go through waiver to go on the taxi squad. Byron becomes the only logical player then because he would be the least likely to be picked up by an other team due to his contract. Both Armia and Lehkonen would get picked up in a heartbeat...

Habs worse nightmare is if someone like Drouin is playing terribly..... you can't scratch him without waiving someone else (already not in the lineup), and do you really risk waiving him to the taxi squad?

Frolik Evans and Perry would be a line I would put together, that would be a hell of a tough line to play against.

Lehkonen was 3rd for playing time during the last playoffs, so yes, impossible he isn’t making the team lmao

Drouin will play it’s not even a question

Yes, Byron would probably the one going through waivers to go on the taxi squad

The battle for last spot in the lineup is between Perry, Armia and Byron.

IMO Byron makes it ahead of both. Perry cracks the lineup if Armia falters or they alternate in out.

If Byron falters, Toffoli moves over to the left Armia and Perry move up.

Don't think Byron has to go to Taxi squad. He just gets scratched.

I think one of Kulak or Romanov go to the taxi squad to get cap compliant.

Yeah, but until we know Romanov is ready to play 22 min a night, we need to keep Kulak-Petry together

So then how do they get under the cap? If Romanov goes to to the taxi squad he has to stay there till an injury otherwise they're over the cap or someone is on waivers so Romanov can play.

Edmunson or Mete can play 22 mins a night. And Romanov plays with Juulsen or one of the above
